Jaime R. López, MD
Brief Bio
Dr. López received his BS degree in Psychobiology from UCLA and his medical degree from the University of Washington. He then attended Stanford University Medical Center where he completed his internship in Internal Medicine, residency in Neurology and Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Diseases. Dr. López then joined the Faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine and founded Stanford University’s Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM) Program in 1995.
Dr. López is an Associate Professor and Director of the Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring Program at Stanford University School of Medicine and holdsdual appointments in the Departments of Neurology and Neurological Sciences, and Neurosurgery.
His research interests and publications focus on the utility of IONM in a variety of surgical and endovascular procedures. He has been an invited lecturer at numerous prestigious American and international conferences, and universities.
He is also active in the major American Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology societies amongst them the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS), American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM), ASET-The Neurodiagnostic Society, ABRET–Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation, and several international societies. Dr. López was elected and served on the ACNS Council twice and was Chairman of the ACNS Guidelines Committee. Currently, he is a member of a several ACNS committees, is Chair of the AANEM Special Interest Group-IONM, and currently serves on ABRET’s LAB-NIOM Board.
